Casey and Megan Herring
Founders and Director
Casey and Meg Herring are co-founders of Global Education Ministries. Casey received a B.S. in Secondary Education from Western Oregon University and an M.S. in Global and International Education from Drexel University. He has 13 years of teaching and leadership experience. Casey is currently serving as the CEM Director. Meg received a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and an M.S. in Education from Liberty University. She taught 2nd grade for 4 years and now enjoys the gift of staying home with their three children.
Tim has served all of his adult life in some combination of ministry and/or education. He has been wonderfully blessed by God with the opportunity to serve as a classroom teacher in the US, Argentina, and Peru. Currently, Tim lives with his family in Toronto, Canada where he serves as the pastor of Humbervale Park Baptist Church. The joy of Tim's heart is seeing Christ lifted up.He is honored to be a part of that worship through the ministry of GEM.
Sam Matus was born in Mexico City. He relocated to North Carolina at the age of 15 where he finished High School. His college career came to a halt when he decided to become an entrepreneur and a business owner since 2004. Jesus dramatically changed Sam's life in late 2008 for the better. Sam is happily married to Erin, and the Lord has blessed them with 3 children. Noah, Ella and soon to be born baby. He has been involved with GEM since day one and is now serving as Treasurer for the Board of Directors.
Vannessa graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She worked in a rehabilitation centre before going on maternity leave, then ultimately resigning to focus on home duties. Vanessa and her family moved to Puerto Escondido, Mexico in October 2007 to start a Christian Surfers ministry, reaching the local surfers with the gospel. Together with husband and four children, they love hanging out at the beach and enjoy the delicious tacos al pastor.
Matthew has been a Christ follower for many years and is actively involved in his home church in Toronto, Canada. He currently assists GEM with strategic planning and business development. Matthew began his career as an intern at a high-tech start-up and since then he has worn several hats. He was the inaugural Canadian director of Nexus Youth Summits – an international organization of over 3000 millennial philanthropists and social entrepreneurs, is currently a consultant with Schroeder & Schroeder and also is taking his MBA (part-time) at the Schulich School of Business with a focus on Social Sector Management. In 2015, Matthew was selected as one of 50 young Canadians to represent Canada at the YouthfulCities Summit.
Director of Mission Advancement
Jason and Kate Faircloth are from North Carolina and got married in 2010. In 2013, they followed God's calling join GEM's mission in Mexico. Jason spent four years serving at the Manantial School in Puerto Escondido. Jason has a B.A. in Spanish and a K-12 teaching license from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He now gladly serves as GEM's Director of Mission Advancement. He lives in Wilmington, North Carolina with his wife Kate and their two boys Abraham and Joshua.
Mr. Bose is honored to serve on the Board of GEM. He is passionate about Biblical integration, school improvement, and supporting international Christian education. He has advance degrees in church leadership and school leadership. He has taught elementary and middle school in the US and abroad. Mr. Bose has held executive leadership roles in three international Christian schools in South America. He also spent two years in higher ed. administration at Liberty University. He enjoys reading, fishing and coaching. His wife, Stacey, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at Liberty University. They have three children: Kaylee, Ema and Tj.
